Director, Producer

Kim Saltarski has spearheaded the production of over 400 hours of inspired, original animated and live action family, comedy, and documentary content.

His journey documenting the world of “patients helping patients with medical cannabis” began with his melanoma stage 3B cancer diagnosis in April of 2014. After treating himself with medical cannabis and other plant-based diets/medicines, he has been cancer free ever since. Jack’s Garage is his way of shining light on endocannabinoid medicine, destigmatizing its use, and deep diving into the science and the politics behind it.

Jack’s Garage is the fourth installment of Kim’s “human beacons” documentary series. The first was the riveting documentary “IF The Poet” (CBC and Amazon Prime US), about a 50-year-old man jumping into the competitive world of slam poetry. The festival darling, “Andre The Anti-Giant”(BravoCanada), was his second film showcasing the powerful story of a comedian’s dramatic return to the stage after a life-threatening spinal surgery. The third was the eco documentary, “Reimagining Humanity”, following Therapist/Social Ecologist Mark Skelding’s personal exploration of eco-psychology and how eco-anxiety could be one of the most important evolutionary drivers of our times. His fifth was “MEND with Dignity” – the riveting documentary about a rural Canadian compassionate care group using medical cannabis to heal themselves and their community.  He just launched his new digital doc series “THC – The Healing Conversations” featuring legendary cannabis advocate Corrie Yelland’s story in the first episode.

Kim is currently developing “Breaking Bud”, a TV series spin inspired by his medical cannabis documentaries as well as other scripted TV and film projects.
